Rachel Gummo

Rachel Gummo is a true triple-threat in the performing arts industry. Rachel has been performing since early childhood and has had the opportunities to dance, sing, act, and coach professionally. She is a true Buffalo, New York, native who has trained with a variety of prestigious ballet academies and competition studios all over the country.

Rachel won the Kenny Award for ‘Outstanding Actress in a Leading Role’ from Shea’s Buffalo Theater, which sent her on a journey to the Big Apple. In 2016, Rachel had the privilege to perform on Broadway with the Jimmy Awards, where she danced and sang with the cast of On Your Feet and The Lion King. Just one year later, Rachel was personally asked to return to NYC, by NYU’s Performing Arts Academy and Julliard, to be a featured singer and dancer for James Nederlander’s Tribute. She sang and danced with true professionals like Kristin Chenoweth, Gavin Creel, Billy Joel, and Tony Bennet.

After her time in New York City, Rachel attended Liberty University in Lynchburg, Virginia, where she founded, administered and choreographed for their Division 1 Dance Team. Rachel fostered a variety of styles among her dancers: Ballet, Lyrical, Jazz, Hip Hop and Pom. Through hard work and determination, Rachel and her leadership team got them affiliated with the University within five years. Rachel obtained her Bachelor’s degree and MBA while studying at Liberty. Since then, Rachel has had the honor of bringing her talents to students as a guest choreographer for the Miss America Organization, Miss Volunteer America, equity theater, as well as national musical theater conventions and professional dance companies around the country.

Rachel is thrilled to bring her talents to the Music Academy of WNY as a Musical Director and Choreographer. Some of her work was featured in recent past productions: Chicago and Newsies. Up next… Mean Girls!
